- Meet with bride and groom for
1. initial consultation, 2. pre-wedding planning meeting two months before the wedding and 3. last minute details, questions and concerns two weeks before the wedding
- Assist the bride and groom throughout the day
- Provide moral support to bride and bridal party
- Greet vendors, provide guidance and receive any deliveries
- Coordinate music arrangements with the ceremony musicians and work out ceremony details with the officiant
- Perform minimal ceremony site decoration
- Verify microphones are working and readings are prepared
- Pin flowers on bridal party and distribute bouquets
- Make certain vendors are performing in accordance with their contracts
- Locate bridal party and family, and assemble the processional line-up
- Cue processional music, receiving line and grand exit of newlywed couple
- Deliver final payments and tips to vendors from the bride and groom
- Guide photographer and videographer (including ceremony site rules)
- Oversee distribution of wedding programs and post-ceremony favors
- Oversee signing of guest book
- Collect ceremony site decorations
- Ensure ceremony is on schedule (prompt groomsmen to seat parents, grandparents, verify that rings and marriage license are prepared, et al.)
- Provide emergency kit, including steam iron, stain remover, bobby pins, sewing kit, mouthwash, et al.
- Deliver supplies to reception site
- Administer reception site set-up and decoration
- Provide guest supervision ("management") as needed
- Supervise guest table until arrival of attendant
- Orchestrate reception events with other vendors, including bridal party grand entrance (ensuring proper pronunciation and line-up), toasts, cake cutting, first dance, et al.
- Administer reception seating including place-card set-up, table arrangements and assisting the caterer with special dietary requests, children's meals and other guests' needs
- Oversee refreshments and food for vendors
- Collect reception decorations and supplies including gifts, cake knife and toasting glasses
- Guide the bride and groom for seamless reception events, advising when events are approaching so that the bride and groom can enjoy their day!
